70 Years...

On the 20th of this month my Dad turned 70. It is really hard to believe, that 70 years ago my Dad was born. My Dad and I have a really good relationship..I mean, there have been some bumps along the way, but growing up, I felt like he always was fair in seeing my side of things.

I remember being little, and him coming home early from work sometimes, and me asking "why are you home early?" (not that I didn't WANT him home early, but I was just miss curious..:) and he would always reply with "To see YOU" He would make time out to play with me at night after a long days work, and on the weekends. We would have our Sunday trips to the donut shop, or he would make his "famous" omelette's and pancakes!

As I got older, him and my Mom were always at the football games to watch me in the marching band and the competitions.

Then came time for me to move to Lubbock for College....He had done all the routine things of making sure I knew how to check my tires, knowing when to get my oil changed, etc. etc. But I don't think it hit him that I had really LEFT home till him and my Mom were past Post, Tx....:(

My wedding day was the best day of my life, and my Dad was at the end of those stairs ready to walk me down the aisle to Wayne. It was truly a magical moment. For our father-daughter dance, I couldn't stop crying...Some were happy tears, and some were just plain EMOTIONAL tears. But we laughed too, and that is ONE thing that my Dad and I can do is LAUGH!!!!!!!!!

So happy 70th Dad, and I just can't wait to celebrate your 80th!

LOVE YOU!
